Pesäpallo in Australia

During the 1950s and early 1960s, a wave of Finnish emigrants moved to Australia. Many of them had grown up playing pesäpallo and wanted to keep the tradition alive in their new home.
The sport became a central part of the annual Finnish Festival (also known as the Easter Games), where Finns from accross Australia came together. P
esäpallo was the first sport played at these festivals, alongside volleyball, table tennis, and once upon a time soccer!

World Cup

This international pesäpallo tournament, organised by the World Pesäpallo Federation (WPF), has captivated fans eight times since its inception.
